Greetings Friends,
The Lenten season arrives with Ash Wednesday on March 5th and I’ve published a new book for this introspective season: Ash ~ Dust ~ Stardust: More Poetry, Prose, and Photos for Lent and Easter, a follow up to last year’s offering: Come Closer: Poetry, Prose and Photos for Lent and Easter. From Ash Wednesday through the Resurrection, I explore several of the lectionary scriptures and themes of Jesus’ ministry, bringing my questions, doubts, and faith to the page with what I hope are imaginative prose, lyrical poetry, and inspiring photos.
To celebrate the publication of Ash ~ Dust ~ Stardust, I’m offering the Kindle version (e-book) free from March 1 -5. You don’t need a Kindle device to access the book. You can read it on a free Kindle app on a phone or tablet, or through the Kindle Cloud reader on a computer.* Mark your calendar.
*I can’t control poetic line breaks or photo placement on a Kindle reader, so if the purity of the intended visual layout and reading experience is important to you, or if you simply cringe at e-books, you can buy a paper copy** of Ash ~ Dust ~ Stardust through Amazon.***
**I can’t run a paperback giveaway online, but good news for those of you who attend St. David of Wales in Shelton with me: I’ve ordered 25 copies for the congregation as a gift. If you have the means, a donation to the church of $10 (the purchase price) is appreciated.
***If you want a copy, Ash - Dust - Stardust but can’t abide Amazon, send me an email, and I will email you a pdf version to read on computer.

Wishing you all a moment to soak in the peace of the night sky, and to glimpse the upcoming “planetary parade” which will be obscured by clouds here in the Pacific Northwest.
Here’s the midnight sky from my balcony on February 20th. And below, an illustration of the planets and brightest stars in view.
