Cathy Warner's Curated Creativity

Cathy Warner's Creative Pursuits Curated
Welcome to my first official occasional newsletter. Here you'll find links to recent publications, upcoming classes, and other creative endeavors such as photo albums of home renovation projects and beautiful scenery. I share this with you in the spirit of connection: with each other, with the creative spirit within each of us, and The Creator inspiring us all. Thank you for joining me, virtually and in-person, and may some of what you see and read inspire your own creativity.

Join me in Gig Harbor November 4-5
Pre-Conference sessions:
Playing with Prose: Generate new prose–both fiction and creative nonfiction–and strengthen your work-in-progress through sensory detail, imagery, dialogue and more. Leave with new ideas to try on your own.
Playing with Poetry: Experiment and explore the freedom of informal poetry.
Play with sound, rhythm, detail and elements of style. Great for experienced and novice poets.
Conference session:
Scene Essentials: Scenes are the heart of stories, the vivid events and images that expand time, heighten the senses, and engage a reader in both fiction and nonfiction. We’ll explore the elements and uses of scene, including dialogue, through discussion and examples, and learn how to apply them in our writing. The session will cover in detail the four basic scene elements as described in Sandra Scoffield’s The Scene Book.
