February Feasting!

FEASTING ON SUN AS FEBRUARY FADES
Greetings All,
Up here on the 17th parallel we've had the wettest winter on record. A mudslide closed the highway a few hundred yards from our house in late January, and two weeks ago a 100 year old redwood snapped in the wind, toppling about 90 feet of trunk into the road, thankfully missing our home and cars. Today has been windy and rainy with rainbows galore, including the one below.
Last week the sun shone and temps climbed into the low 50s, and I spent four afternoons outdoors absorbing vitamin D and feeling virtuous pulling weeds. I celebrate making it through another winter solstice, that at this extreme, provides only eight and half hours of light for two dark weeks. Each day that the gray has parted to provide a view has been a glorious gift. You can share in the Hood Canal Beauty on my website.
