Write With Me: There's Still Time!

You're Invited To Write with Me!
Greetings local writers,
I'm sorry to say that Western WA University will no longer be offering community education classes anywhere except Bellingham. So if you've been in a class with me in Kingston, please consider my personal offerings, as well as those through Tacoma Community College in Gig Harbor.
I look forward to writing with you soon.

STARTING SOON: There are a few spots left in this small group workshop where participants will create a short story from start to finish, beginning with an idea or outline (either fiction or memoir). You'll write a first draft and revise it in the coming weeks while learning about and experimenting with essential components of stories including point of view, setting, scene, detail, dialogue, and more.
Held in Poulsbo on Tuesdays from February 25 - March 17, 6 - 8 p.m. $100 fee.
Email Cathy to register. Address and directions provided upon registration.

At the end of this dark wet winter, I can't think of a better way to come out of hibernation than to celebrate the first day of spring with a daylong retreat in beautiful Hansville on the north edge of the Kitsap Peninsula and spring into our stories!
Using writing suggestions that engage the senses, we'll unearth memories, name what we know, and begin to write personal and family stories, life journeys, and memorable experiences.
Even if you don't consider yourself a writer, this will be a wonderful day of shining light on our lives. Sharing is optional and conducted in a safe and supportive environment.
$65 includes the day of instruction, coffee, tea, light snacks, and a copy of my latest book of poetry, Home By Another Road. Bring a lunch, journal and pen, or tablet/computer.
Saturday, March 21st, 9:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. Address and directions provided upon registration.
Email Cathy to register.

HARBOR WOMEN'S WELLNESS WEEKEND MAY 8 - 9
I'm offering two workshops on Saturday of the Weekend:
WRITING FOR RENEWAL
Experience expressive writing, a powerful tool for wellbeing for everyone—writers and non-writers alike. All you need is a pen and paper to explore this method with proven ability to renew, change, heal, empower, and inspire you in all aspects of life. You’ll learn tips and tools for using this simple and rewarding writing method at home.
CREATE YOUR VISION
What does your best life look? Come find out and have fun while you’re at it. Get in touch with your deepest goals, dreams, and desires by creating a vision board—a collage of words and images that will encourage and inspire your journey into the future.
The Women's Wellness Weekend is offered at Tacoma Community College's Gig Harbor Campus. Friday night will include a key note speaker, Jennifer Clarke, local author on renewal, vision mapping and goal setting, artist's reception for Alexander Lee, great prizes, refreshments and live music!
