Fabulous February Literary Update
Home By Another Road
I'm thrilled to announce the publication of my second book of poetry, Home By Another Road, on March 1st, in both print and Kindle editions. Buckle up and join me for a poetic journey along life's rough roads, interchanges, detours, scenic routes, fresh pavement, and even a rest stop en route to my ultimate destination—home.

Metaphor Mondays
To celebrate the upcoming release of Home By Another Road, I'm recording one poem a week from the book for four weeks.
Here's "You Do Not Have to Be Good," inspired by Mary Oliver.

This Side of the Divide
Book: My short story, "Impressions of a Family," about a divorcee who tries to reconcile her present with her past, and her heart with her head, is included in This Side of the Divide: Stories of the American West, an anthology that releases tomorrow. Order here.
Reading: I'll be a featured reader at an off-site event in conjunction with the AWP (Association of Writers and Writing Programs) Conference in Portland, OR. If you're in the area, join me Saturday, March 30th, 8:30 p.m. at Mother Foucault's Bookshop.

Rich and Recommended
Reading Melissa Reeser Poulin's poetry is like eating truffles—each morsel is a rich, dense, and ultimately satisfying combination of simple ingredients elevated to perfection that lingers in the mouth. With her exquisite word choices and spare lines, Melissa's poems will linger on your tongue—read them aloud—and in your thoughts long after you've finished her chapbook that deftly illuminates the pain and joy of parenting and family life. Rupture, Light would make the perfect Valentine gift for a mother of young children—served alongside a truffle, of course.

Sleep, Pray, Heal
I invite you to join me in helping Rev. Donna Fado Ivery launch her memoir of hope and healing in the aftermath of a disabling injury. Donna was an early encourager of mine as I pursued writing and ministry. A gifted painter, writer, and editor, She's running a Kickstarter campaign until Feb. 25th.
